What is Modern Pilates?

Modern Pilates is a high-intensity, low-impact workout designed to sculpt long, lean muscle, build deep core strength, and improve endurance without stressing the joints. Rooted in the principles of Joseph Pilates, our method blends traditional control and precision with dynamic pacing, athletic progressions, and energizing flows performed on a Xformer machine.

Expect slow, controlled resistance, intentional movement, and serious muscle shake. We use springs, straps, and props to challenge stability, fire up smaller support muscles, and create full-body results you can see and feel.

Our classes move with the music, keep transitions smooth, and leave you stronger, sweatier, and standing taller. Whether you're brand new or experienced, modifications and amplifications make every workout effective for your body.

I've never done Pilates before. Is this beginner-friendly?

Yes. Arrive 15 minutes early for your first class and your instructor will set up your machine, walk you through the grip points, and dial in your spring tension. Modifications are available for every move.

Where should I park and when should I arrive?

When coming down Commonwealth, turn onto Orchard Street, then make a right into the alley. This will lead you directly to the parking lot located behind the studio.

Street parking is also available along Commonwealth. We recommend arriving a few minutes early to park, check in, and get settled before class begins.

What should I wear and bring?

Form-fitting workout clothes you can move in, a water bottle, and grip socks (required — we sell them at the studio if you forget yours).

How long is a class?

45 minutes, full body, every time.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require at least 12 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your class. If you cancel within the 12-hour window before class, you will be charged a $15 late cancellation fee. No-shows incur a $20 fee.

Because each reservation holds a reformer spot, late changes may prevent another client from booking. Any late-canceled class or no-show will also result in a class pass being deducted from your account.

Thank you so much for understanding and for helping us keep spots available for everyone!

How do memberships work?

Memberships auto-renew monthly from the date of purchase, with a 3-month minimum commitment. After your first auto-pay, you can cancel with at least 30 days' notice before the next scheduled payment.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes — gift cards are available through Mindbody. Reach out at hello@dollhousepilates.com if you'd like help purchasing one.

I'm pregnant or recovering from an injury — can I take class?

Please consult your doctor first. Once cleared, let your instructor know and they'll modify movements for you. The Xformer is joint-friendly by design.
